This is a GREAT guide folks - it’s simple, straightforward, and deals well with the overly complicated alphabet soup of medical insurance. Knowing this stuff can prove REALLY helpful, and the examples used are a great resource.

the loneliness epidemic/gen z dead-eyed stare/poor socialization of younger generations and increasing rudeness of older ones is kinda an internet thing and kinda a pandemic thing but it is also the well-meaning chickens of the Stranger Danger movement coming home to roost

something something everybody thinks violent crime is at a high when it’s at a 30 year low, something something training your children to see everyone outside of their family as a threat until you yourself believe it, something something. again this was well-intentioned, people want their kids to be safe, but when you’ve heard “dont talk to strangers” all your life it’s hard to kill that instinct as an adult

but yeah if you’re an early 20-something person, it might be helpful to be directly told this: talk to strangers. that rule only applied when you were a child. you not only should but must talk to strangers

girlies, if you’re gonna do maidplay you’re gonna need to talk about or at the very least understand the racialised nature of maids.

i know it’s boring to some of you to constantly be asking “what are the politics of this kink?” about literally everything but unfortunately we do in fact live in a society and pretending racism doesn’t exist encourages it rather than preventing it.

Being fully serious, racialized people have to consider this with basically every kink we interact with constantly, and the fact that whites don’t is a facet of white privilege.

For example, personally, I’m technically a switch but in reality I’m a Domme 99% of the time, NOT BECAUSE IM A TRANS WOMAN (for once), but because so many kink spaces in the US are so overwhelmingly white that finding a Dominant of Color that there’s mutual attraction with AND is normal about trans women is hell.

“Well what’s wrong with white Dominants-“ I’m a Black woman with significant racialized trauma, I will die before I willingly and genuinely call a white person Master or many other Dominant titles as a submissive, or allow them to perform like 75% of common dominant acts/behavior for any reason beyond education. A lot of other Black folks in kink feel similarly, although not all.

What this means is that a lot of racialized folks are CONSTANTLY having to dance around our kinks/desires in a way that the vast majority of whites simply.. don’t. I may like impact play but you will NEVER see me being the Black woman in the kink club getting whipped by a white man, or woman or enby either. You may be able to get off on being a partner’s “slave” but for a lot of Black folks, either side of that equation will be de-facto race play. Other races got other hangups or concerns too.

Part of kink is being aware of the potential harms that can come of any kink. It doesn’t mean you can never do it, but it does mean you have to think a bit more about your shit than “oooo hot” or going “well I’ll only ever fuck white people so I don’t have to worry” because that’s ALSO racist lmfao.
